Factory Friday: August 14th

It's Friday and we're here with some behind the scenes shots from the production floor. We build our boots here in Eugene, Oregon and we're very proud of our process and the end result, and we think you will enjoy some behind the scenes action.

We've got a batch of Java Waxed Flesh belts being made, thinking about doing a run of Tobacco Snakebite belts.

After lasting, the welt is attached, that piece of the puzzle connecting everything together.

Heat and pressure allow the cork to fill in the entire cavity under the midsole.

To ensure the welt has a tight fit, it is rolled.

The welt having been rolled, the next step is for the midsole to be trimmed.

The quarters have the least pressure placed on them during lasting, so the texture is more prominent.

Each heel and leather stack is attached with both adhesive as well as a set of nails.

Once stitched and heels placed, the final stop on the line before the finishing station is the sander.

Staining and buffing are the very last steps before the boot gets its final quality control check.

I missed the previous run of Java Waxed Flesh belts but will purchase one as soon as they drop this round. And yes, please do a run in the Tobacco Snakebite as well!
